A large stone castle with crenellated towers and arched windows stands under a blue sky with scattered clouds, surrounded by grass and a small landscaped garden—perfect for exploring on your Second Year Entry.

Senior Cycle Entry

Parents and boys are warmly encouraged to visit the school to discover more about Glenstal and the Senior Cycle education on offer here.

Glenstal’s boarding environment offers particular benefits for Leaving Certificate study. For 5-day boarders, weekdays are full, purposeful and well balanced across class, sport, music and study. For full boarders the weekends blend a supplementary Leaving Certificate tuition programme with recreational activities, and the steady rhythm of evening study.

Please enquire at any time for more information. Private visits to the school, to tour the campus and meet with our Headmaster, with a view to Senior Cycle entry are readily available by appointment.

Choosing the right educational environment for your son is a precious task. May you receive the guidance you need in the time ahead and discover what is best.

Making an Application

The Process

Applications for entry at Transition Year or Fifth Year may be made up to two years in advance.

Applications are via an online form. Applicants are also asked to upload their son’s two most recent school reports and/or a short personal statement written by him. A Principal’s reference may also be requested.

Once an application has been received, applicants and their parents will be invited to a meeting with the Headmaster.

If your son is considering Glenstal for Senior Cycle in 2+ year’s time, please register your interest, to enable us to keep in touch with you regarding the admissions process.
