Community is profoundly important to us. We want our students to feel part of a Glenstal community, an extended family where lifelong friendships are fostered and treasured.
Students live together in one of three Houses (Junior, Inter, Senior) under the age-appropriate care of our Houseparents. Each House has shared bedroom dormitories, bathroom with shower cubicles, a common room social space and a kitchen pantry. This shared living environment develops
independence, tolerance, cooperation, and compromise.
Students are kept busy throughout the week, with class time, sports, music, clubs, societies and daily supervised study. At weekends, there are both onsite and offsite House activities including sporting, social, cultural and adventure excursions.
Full boarders stay at school on weekends, enjoying a strong programme of both academic enrichment and recreational activities.
In addition to the regular school breaks and exeat weekends, there is full flexibility to go home, as preferred, on additional evenings and weekends.
5 day boarders arrive at school on either Sunday evening or Monday morning, and depart school on Friday evening.
They enjoy all the benefits of boarding life, spending their weekday evenings in sports training, music tuition/practice, supervised study sessions and recreation, without the midweek travel time. There is flexibility to go home on additional evenings as preferred.
Day boarders benefit from an extended school day Monday to Friday.
Day boarders remain at school after class for the schedule of after school sports and extra-curricular activities, which is followed by supervised study. Many also take individual music tuition. Students are provided with all their meals, including breakfast, a hot, three-course lunch, snack and supper.
