During term, there are a variety of weekend activities in which our students can participate. These are usually structured between meals and evening study, where possible. Trips which are typically offered on Saturday afternoons include:
Students begin the day at the later time of 8.30 am on Sunday. The entire campus community attends Mass in the Abbey Church at 10:00 am. Students from each boarding house have some involvement at the liturgy, which includes, acting as a server, carrying up the offertory gifts, singing in the choir and reading.
All are welcome to the Community Mass at 10.00 am on Sunday mornings and coffee is served in the Barrington Room in the castle building immediately afterwards. Students are free after Mass and they may go out with family members or choose to participate in the organised activities which normally take place on Sunday afternoons. A wide range of activities is offered, including cinema, swimming, bowling, surfing and go-karting.
Weekends blend a supplementary academic programme with fun activities, time with friends, and the steady rhythm of evening study throughout term time.
Students begin the day at the later time of 8.30am on weekends. In the morning, our full boarders benefit from an additional academic programme: STEM focused workshops for Junior & Inter houses and Leaving Certificate tutorial and revision courses for Senior House students.

After lunch, students can opt to join the planned afternoon/evening social activities programmed for every weekend and offering a great variety of recreational, sporting and cultural outings, including:
After first study and supper, boys have time to relax, socialise with their friends and watch a movie or match on the big screens.

After Sunday Lunch, students have free time in the afternoon. Boys might typically be found playing table tennis, doing music practice, playing basketball, board games in the library, going for a walk or run, taking a shopping trip to our local village shop or studying.
Sunday evenings are structured around supper and Second Study for full boarders and returning 5-day boarders.
